I've been comtemplating it for a while but the Barnsley match on Friday and the steelers in the Superbowl made my mind up.</p> Ordered it through the t'internet and waited for them to ring to tell me a time and date. This evening I've been out for a game of snooker with towndude and when I've got back there was a message on the answer machine from Mr Sky. "Mr Nutkins we will be at your property tomorrow morning at 7.45am"</p> For fecks sake quarter to 8!!!</p> Did Mr Sky not bother to find out if I'm on the Pinot Grigio before coming up with that rediculous timeframe. No time for a morning **** and a cup of tea for Mr Nutkins, oh no.</p>
A week on sunday....... Come on the Steelers!!! Estander you must admit we're playing well and ever since I spoke about the Roeth he's played his **** off!!!</p> Quarterback rating in the playoff summat like 126.9</p>
RE: Hope you went for Sky+ Dint bother yet. I wanted to get it installed before increasing the package. I've got too much to pay for this month to warrant another £90. The offer was sky+ and multiroom for £89 and a waive of the £10 subscription for multi room. I'll check that out next month me think!
RE: A week on sunday....... Yep they are playing well....can't stand them though! Just hope the Superbowl is a closer game than the Conference finals. I won't be on here during the game though - customary Superbowl night out - to the pub before the game and then to a mates to watch it whilst having more beer, pizza etc
Why the hatred for the Steelers? They aren't a well followed club in the UK, like Dallas or the Redskins for instance. I hate the glory hunters that follow the NFL in much the same way as football. In a way I'm proud that the Steelers are like that. If others followed them when I was a kid 20 years ago then I wouldn't have followed them.....maybe
RE: A week on sunday....... it appears eveyone here watches one american footy game a year: the superbowl. however they dont actually watch the game, they just go to hooters and drink themselves stupid and eat take aways and fall to sleep after the games been on for 3 hours or so.
RE: Why the hatred for the Steelers? They've mainly been a defensive team which I don't like o much, I guess hatred is too strong a word, more that I dislike them. I've liked the Patriots since they were dreadful back in the '80's. Redskins as they were the first team I saw on TV, and used to like the 49ers as we got to see them a lot. Recently picked up on the Saints as that was my first experience of a live game over there. My main dislike though goes for the Cowboys and the Dolphins.
RE: A week on sunday....... In all fairness Eaststander and yours truely have a debate on here often when a games on but I get your drift.</p> The Steelers aren't household names like Jerry Rice, Joe Montana etc.</p> Who do you follow AZ?</p>
Sorry to hear about your losing bet btw?!!! Seattle played well when I saw the highlights but I feel the AFC is the stronger league this year.</p> Carolina looked a one option outfit. A bit BFC in a big game kind of thing!!</p>
RE: Sorry to hear about your losing bet btw?!!! I think Delhomme thought he was playing for the Seahawks with the interceptions he threw. At the start of the 4th quarter, Carolina only had about 55 yards total offense! Seattle just shut them down, could turn into a bruising defensive encounter with the Steelers.
Maybe but the Steelers offense is playing well......... and to a certain degree Seattle are too. Defense is an enjoyable part of the game for. I like to see turnovers and sacks. You're not one of them who like batting at cricket but not bowling or fielding are you?</p>
RE: Maybe but the Steelers offense is playing well......... I'm one of those that isn't that isn't too bothered about cricket! Don't mind defence in the game though - it's a key part. Recall a superbowl a few years back that was very low scoring at halftime. Just excellent defensive play. II'd been watching the game and also on a US message board where they were discussing the game and at half time alot of them were saying how boring it was - it was, at that stage, one of the best Superbowls I'd seen because it was so tight, just a different sort of excitement to scores being racked up all the time.
