Nothing new there, as I'm one of life's optimists and if you can't be optimistic at the start of a new season, when can you be? However, this year there's definitely something different about the club. The new management trio proved themselves more than capable last season, with their tactical nous & creating a togetherness in the club not seen for quite some time. David Flitcroft has strengthened the squad this Summer and convinced all the players out of contract to re sign. We now have a strong squad of players, stronger than at any time since rejoining the Championship (with the potential of another striker being brought into the fold). All the players bring different strengths and skills to the table, but all work & contribute within the team ethic & ethos. Off the field, we have brought in an exceptionally experienced man as a new Chairman, along with a young CEO, to freshen things up and create a more forward thinking approach. To top it all, Patrick Cryne has had the shadow of the court case removed.
You'll always get fans persistently criticising players they don't like, or rate. Just like some do with the club. They're quite right when they claim it's their right to air their views. It's worth remembering, though, the right of free speech also resides with people when disagreeing with said opinions. Also, others can decide whether the critics speak with credibility, authority or bias.

Here, here! You reds! Don't think I'll make it to Oakwell until November or December this season but I'll be cheering from afar as usual. And I agree, I think we are at the start of something very exciting.

Cant say as if I am that eager this season dunt know if its age or the fact that I`m at ease that I dont see us struggling this season.

Most chilled pre season for a long time for me and it`ll happen when it happens. Maybees am still basking in the second half of last season.
