If PC puts his faith in him what choice do we have but to do the same. If he is going to lead us into the new season their is little point in slating him, its time to try (Iknow its hard) to forget last season!!! Im hoping that with 2 summer transfer windows behind him that he has learnt and hopefully he will bring some much needed strength and quality to the squad. Plus this time they will be in the correct area's. Suppose only time will tell but I for one would like us to state our position regarding the manager sooner rather than later... That way we can start to build for next season as soon as the window reopens...
Have been thinking the same Would prefer a new start, but if that's the way it is, we have a good few months to wipe the slate clean. Alot needs doing to convince fans though, and I fear ... the first sign of trouble, the Davey out regime will be in full swing (rightly so I might add).
I posted this earlier........and its on similar lines to whats here I'm expecting to hear something like this regarding SD........ ..........Patrick Cryne has told Simon Davey that he has until the end of October to show what he can do. After that period has elapsed there will be another meeting with Patrick Cryne and Simon Davey to review the situation PC will obviously understand the fans feelings towards SD but I think SD has still got his support So a statement like the one above will be targeted at the fans to pacify them and in doing so allow SD a bit of breathing space like you said......if that happens..........we have to support it
the problem is he has lost a lot of the fans, and should we start poorly he will be nder immediate pressure, it has to be time for fresh start now
Only thing I don't like about it is Now is the time for a new manager.... he would have all pre season to get players in, train with them etc..... barring a brilliant start, fans will be on Davey's back again, and (as you say) come October, we'll be looking at disruption. I think Davey has alot to do to turn this around.
davey`s staying it`s nailed on! nt lets just hope he learns from this seasons mistakes and uses tactics capable of winning matches, with players in correct positions.next season will be very tough with the likes of west brom/middlesbo`/newcastlecoming down.as ever the likes of us blacky, plymouth will struggle and unless we see 3 or 4 real quality additions in the summer,it will be nail biting down to the wire stuff again!
The choice I have, is to keep my money in my pocket if I am not satisfied with the product I am being asked to "buy", and that is what I shall be doing, or picking and choosing when to "buy" if Davey remains.
Know what you mean - though I dont think he needs a brilliant start Obviously a start like last season and he will be in all sorts of trouble I wanted a change but if we are stuck with him I will bite my tongue and hope to be proved wrong I will be happy with better entertainment and outside the bottom 8 at the end of September - especially the better entertainment bit. thats my biggest complaint if I am honest - some of the tactics and performances last season were woefull and if I have to spend 3.5 hours driving each way to get to watch it I want a bit better than we got some times.
When you think about this.......we as fans are stuck between a rock and a hard place........ .......we have so much admiration for Pat Cryne And yet...........most want a new start this season with a new manager But if PC says we are going again with SD...then what can we do........we have to take the word of the guy who is ultimatly in charge
that's true Nudger, it's hard to put pressure on SD because all it does is put undue pressure on PC. And I get the feeling he'd rather walk himself than get rid of anyone else.
