Im not here to Gloat!!

What I am here for is to say, It was a pleasure to attend your city today. From the Police, stewards, bar staff and especially yourselves, is how an Away fan should experience a day at the football. From the moment we arrived, and asked for help with directions and stuff, your fans and staff went out of there way to help us. You have a lot to be proud of with attitudes you have, The police treated us like we were visitors to your city, as did your stewards. If only all away day experiences were like it!!! I wont talk about the football as I know as a Saints fan what its like to loose, but, I hope you do Ok and also for those of you that come to St Mary's in March, I would quite happily meet you and buy you a pint!! Good luck for the season.

It's a shame the coach load of Barnsley fans didn't have a nice experience of Southampton afew years ago

 

I had a perfectly pleasant experience a few years back
2 Grant McCann free kicks, then Soton pulled one back, equalised in injury time only for Devaney to win it with the last kick.
Everyone was friendly with the exception of the fact we couldn't find the car park we'd used and people were blanking us when we politely asked for directions. Someone did eventually help us out though.

If you think Soton is a rough place to travel for the footy I'd give Pompey a miss ESL, that's for sure!

Another Saint. I enjoy going to your place no hassle polite stewards great beer set up and you can have a ciggie at half time what more can you ask for. Also the parking was three pound a bargin. Great set up you have got good luck for the rest of season

Lol!! Ignore some of the numpties on this forum, seems nobody, with the exception of EastStander, seems to be respectful to the nice comments that you didn't need to come on here and make. Always nice to have opposing fans come on here and share their experiences of visiting our Town. Thanks for taking the time to come on and post your thoughts, it really is appreciated by us.

Although I just want to say that Chaplow is a right dirty w*nker. That horror kick happened straight in front of me and I just wanted to get to the remorseless fecker and kick the **** out of him!

Glad you had a good experience of Barnsley and its folk.

Nice to see the police and stewards get a mention as they usually get bad press off away fans for heavy handedness.

 

We do have ****** fans without doubt but you get that with every club you just have to ignore them.
