The only reason the BNP are getting votes is becuase of Labour's abject failure to tackle immigration / asylum. Griffin was pretty poor last night but so was Jack Straw and his avoidance of questions. Fair play to Dimblebey, he pressed him for answers. In answer to your question Labour cannot and will not tackle like so many other issues so a vote for the tories is probably the best vote to tackle immigration.
Lets face it politically this country is in meltdown.

    RE: Mass?

I'm talking about large-scale, post-war immigration. Tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands - maybe even millions, within a short period of time. The number of immigrants New Labour have let in the last 12 years exceeds the number in the previous 120 years!

With immigration on this scale, the culture, language, and religion is often transplanted wholesale, with no attempt to integrate. Many of the immigrants are unskilled, uneducated, illiterate, and cannot function as part of the wider society. There are many schools in our inner cities where English is not the most commonly spoken language. You could walk through some areas, and not even know you were in Britain. There are some areas you wouldn't be safe to walk through at all...

Mass immigration is the single biggest change that has happened to this country in the modern era, and not once were the people asked if we wanted it.

    It's not though is it...

I'd venture that being put through an economic experiment the likes of which was unprecedented in the first world is more damaging to the "British way of life" whatever that is.

More have come in teh last 12 than the last 120 as it is practically easier in terms of teh availablity of travel.

Integration is a two way thing. What do we do to make integration easier and I ask again, what is integration to you?

To me, it is following the laws of the land and respecting that all people are entitled to their own way of life. These differences exist amongst the "indigenous peoples" as much as any others. For example, a lot of people do not practice any religion but some do. Some love football, others hate it. Some think the North is great and the South **** and vice versa.

The statistic that surprised me most from last night is that 1 in 2 children born to black backgrounds are to mixed parents. Quite a stunning statistic that kind of proves that integration has happened and continues to do so. It just takes time. Fearing and hating people will not improve that so we are left with a choice; kick em out and become an international pariah or leave people to lead their lives and positively encourage integration.

There are plenty of areas in the UK I would not feel safe to walk.

Its been happening to me far too much for comfort recently

Fortunately there is the postal stike we can disagree on..

I blame the Normans coming over in 1066 when we hadnt voted for them
Or was it the Vikings - Hengist and his Horse etc

    Or Maybe the Romans....

Yes, and what did the Romans do for us?

Sorry, it just seemed too good an opportunity to miss.

I'll go back to sleep now.

Did the Tories tackle immigration pre-1997? I don't think so.

I wouldn't feel that safe walking the streets at night in most areas. There is enough mugging, robbery and unprovoked assualt as it is. I shouldn't have to worry about being attacked just because of the colour of my skin. That goes for all races.

Yet somehow there was a lot less of it...

Don't confuse immigration with the people we cannot refuse to accept under EU law. As the EU has widened, so has the number of people entitled to come here.

    Quite a few things recently

And it seems your views on the practicalities of immegration control etc

Regarding the postal strike - I have a lot of sympathy for the postal workers but I fear that striking will do more harm than good and hasten the demise of the post service. so I dont support them striking

    Mmmm...

I can see your point there, although what is left to them now? The Government is hell bent on getting shut no matter what so their choices are limited.

All in the misguided notion of "choice". Not all its cracked up to be. See Gas and Elecrtric.
