I'm not happy with the fight and passion in 90% of the games!! Wilson's interviews are coming onto the pitch, he's saying things like we are not expected to win and we could be wipping boys. Yesterday I wanted to see fight against a higher team with better players. All I saw was half arse tackling & jogging from a number of players. What was the point in Hemmings on the right, just like at Preston, he touched the ball about 5 times!! We needed to go 442 and press them non-stop, get in the face and have a go....we had nothing to lose!! The crowd was dead as we just sat and watched Boro take the piss and look like Real Madrid!! If we had got into them more and competed, then the crowd would react and the whole game could have been different, it was so easy & relaxing for them!!

Far to many home games are taking the same theme, I want Oakwell games to be a high tempo performance which puts away teams under pressure!! This then lifts the crowd, our atmosphere CAN be good, especially if we have something to shout about coming towards the ponty end! I was hoping after the Oldham game got called off, we had days off to be fresh and have a right go at the game!! I'd rather have seen Oates & Jennings up front, at least this would have seen seem pace and energy up top!!

We need a massive 2nd half of the season to keep fans on board. We are far from safe for starters, but we need a top half finish to get some momentum going for next season. Wilson needs time to build the team, at least another 18 months......But his teams MUST start performing with more energy and his tactics/team selections need to improve!!!

Is the problem that these are youngsters are part of the X box generation?

Not all youngsters are afflicted by it but in all walks of life the youngsters seem more interested in a virtual. easy selfie world and don't put enough into life!

Pretty much agree with that, for me the only players to come out of yesterday with any credit were the back four, Mason Holgate was excellent and my man of the match.
TBF I also thought Lita did quite well at times, won his fair share of headers and tried to hold the ball, but he had no support from a pretty much non existent midfield, and **** all service what was he suppose to do?!

Finally, I said in another thread yesterday but really wish Danny would get shut of Kane Hemmings, he's nowhere near good enough!

Kane Hemmings is shocking, worst forward to play for us apart from flopy feet Liam Dickinson

Sums up my thoughts exactly. Everyone's talking about Boro as if they're Real Madrid. We had nothing to lose in a one off cup tie and should've had a real go at them. Instead we went out with a whimper. I'm sick of hearing Wilson bigging up the opposition all the time. He did it with Preston too and even Chester! The negativity is all too obvious in our play. We need the boost of a couple of key signings and quick.

Who was going to be the other player in a 442?

Energy and passion from the manager and ALL players and we are a decent team at this level. Even more so when we get the injured players fit and some better players on board!!

I'd have gone with either of these teams........

    Turnbull

    Holgate, Ramage, Lewin, Smith

    Berry, Digby, Abbott, Connor H

    Oates, Jennings

    Or,

    Turnbull

    Holgate, Ramage, Lewin, Smith

    Jennings, Berry, Digby, Connor H

    Oates, Lita

    Liam Dickinson, aye.

Richard Naylor. Fola Onibuje. Deon Burton. Don Goodman. Karl Rose. Tony Bedeau. Mark Stallard. Miguel Mostto. Maceo Rigters. Kayode Odejayi. Frank Nouble.

All shocking for us. Some more than others.

    Oh for Sam Winnall...

We can't really play 4-4-2 as we only have two real wingers at the club. Unfortunately they're both fat and disinterested.

Stallard and Mostto were alright. Odejayi had some good spells so unfair to put him in there really.

Hemmings is definitely in that elite list you quoted though. There's probably some we've missed as well!

When was Special K's good spell?

It must have been that Watford game where he somehow bagged a brace

It's my list, Ben. They're the strikers I remember the most as being not good enough. Some more than others. And some for different reasons. I nearly left Kayode out, as I liked him as a bloke and he gave me special memrories in 2008. But he made 82 appearances for us, 40 odd starts. He scored 5 times. Folk are already writing Hemmings off after 10 starts and as many sub appearances, despite him rarely playing as a striker. Can you imagine us giving him 82 appearances and him scoring just two more goals? So aye, Special Kay makes my **** striker list.

Mark Stallard started 11 games for us, and made 8 appearances off the bench. He scored once. He was garbage.

Miguel Mostto made 27 appearances scoring twice. He cost us half a million pounds. Garbage.

I forgot Dave Regis for my list. Somehow.

He had a couple of occasions where I thought his confidence was up and he was causing teams problems. Not in terms of goals, but performances.

I also thought he put the effort in when called upon, unlike Naylor and Burton who had no interest at all.

Aye, I was there at Watford and he looked like Drogba. I like him. But I have to put him down as one of our worst ever strikers. Take that goal against Chelsea out of the equation and he'd be number one for many.

I can't keep defending performances by Hemmings like the one I'm told he 'put in' yesterday. But I'm not going to use the BBS to slate him, or dub him one of our worst ever strikers considering the shitload of context and mitigating circumstances. I prefer to support and be patient with these young lads.

Put your handbag down and stop typing like you're taking your ball home. Anyone had think I'd had a go when we're only debating the level of garbage those strikers were. We're really in agreement in the main.

I was a Mossto fan. The only one to my knowledge. His record was awful but he never had a run of starts. Wasn't he given his debut start up front on his own away at Newcastle in the cup?

Yes he's worse Rich, just don't see what he contributes. His arse is wider than John Hendries

Saying someone isn't good enough on an Internet forum doesn't mean you're more or less supportive than someone who does the opposite. Where else can you discuss views on a player?

When he's on the pitch I support him as best as can. Does he make it difficult at times? Yes, because the application is sometimes missing. That's the frustrating thing with Hemmings, just frustratingly lackadaisical in his play.

There tends to be **** loads of mitigating circumstances with most players to be fair.

Hemmings was completely wasted and looked lost out wide yesterday, that said he could have worked a bit harder!! He STILL doesn't look like a fully fit pro footballer (which is becoming a joke with other players in the last year or 2) and he was up top at Preston with Lita and hardly touched the ball. He's on a 1 year deal, you would think he'd be busting a gut to get another deal!!

I just wish we had more players in the box, the balance of the team needs to get sorted. It's as if Wilson is to concerned about conceding, so it's having an effect on us going forward and having people in the box!! It's a shame as we was just getting it right with Williams at the front of the diamond!! Lets hope Winnall & Kiwomya provide much needed pace and finishing up top!!
