Why would they want a look at him if..

they've no intentions of signing him if he impresses?

What you have to remember is tthat they have a new policy to develop young talent using their facilities , the crook doesn't want to be associated with a team that constantly wins the league with the most expensive players, its all part of teh game for him he wants the best team in the world and wants to silence the critiics like Ferguson did by using kids. The whole talent competition on Sky and the Arnesen signing goes along way to prove he wants to win the league in the future with kids.

Fair point-but if flinders signs for chelsea

il streak onto the pitch and take a **** in centre circle- (or donate 20 quid to charity) whichever is easiest

    Luke Steele...

was in a very similar situation to Scotty when at Peterborough. He was getting some first team games, but being brought on gradually. He was an England under-19 international. Manchester United took him on trial and then signed him for one million pounds, believing this to be a fair price to a lower league team who had brought the lad on to that point. I still think Steele is a good keeper, although he never made the first team at United and got experience through loan moves. He is still early twenties and should get the chance to be first team for at least a Championship side. Best luck, Scotty and we would be sad to see you go, but wouldn't say no to a million (or near offer!!) Chelsea could give us that in peanuts.

a deal will be struck that is satisfactory to all parties(perhaps not the agent though)
