I thought we would be in the top 6 but its looking doubtful now
I know its still early doors and things might change but ST looks like he is going to stick with Odejayi and now Maken seems to be off the pace
And the difficult matches at the begining of the season seem to have knocked a lot of wind out of our sails
The fans are not helping either
I reckon we were, and still are two players (strikers) off making the playoffs

Still going to have a £10 on us being in the top 10 though. When I get round to it

More likely to be bottom 6 rather than top 6

oh and if you want to avoid lining the bookies pockets I will lay that tenner you want to put on us finishing top 10.

Its so frustrating though int it...........we just need that little bit of something up front

That little bit of magic that a player like Kevin Philips would bring.........and we would be flying by now

Remember this, and SD has said this, we have only lost by ONE goal in our league matches, other than at Birmingham, who last season were a Premeirship side
If we had a player up front with that bit of magic, e.g. like Shipperley had, we would have easily won more than we have lost so far this season
We are so so close to being a very good Championship team, but without any teeth to hurt other teams we are huffing and puffing and getting nowhere

I just can't understand whats gone off in the close season........PC said we needed at least two good strikers to sort out the problems in attack.........and we still aint got them
And like I suggested before a ball had been kicked this season, I think Hume has been brought in to provide a WINGER that can also score. So for me, Hume aint been brought in to solve the striker crisis.

We need a couple of new strikers..............ASAP

Whats the point in bringing more strikers in, they will still be behind KO in the pecking order

IF and it's a big IF, something has gone on behind closed doors during the closed season and something is amiss, it's still Davey's team and his job to motivate and inspire. Are we actually playing to a standard that many people believe this squad is capable of doing? I'm not convinced we are getting the most out of every player. That's unquestionably Davey's job, nothing behind the scenes can excuse it.

I honestly believe that our first 11 is capable of edging to the safer side of mid table, but I question whether Davey is capable of motivating the team to reach that goal, or reacting to on field problems during a game.

I agree, think we have a squad capable of so much more but i honestly feel Davey can't get the best out of them. He is far far too one dimensional and i don't think he knows how to change a game when it is not going our way, even when we are winning i always feel he hasn't the confidence in his own ability to change a player he instead seems quite content to let players especially the strikers run until they can hardly walk.

Its got to be said................we haven't got ONE, not one!!, striker at the club

At the begining of the season we thought we had a good un in Maken, but even he seems to be playing very poorly

Mostto aint up to it or he would be playing.............so we need to bite the bullet and bring two strikers in ASAP and off load the rest of the strikers when possible

The club is failing at the moment due to the lack of fire power
We cannot rely on the defence match after match hoping they will keep a clean sheet while at the other end there is nothing happening
We are losing games only by the odd goal..........a strike force that lifts confidence would turn this around straight away
Psychologically we are losing, not because the keeper is crap or the defence is poor or the midfield is rubbish, its because the whole team knows we can't score goals

Don't create many chances and i actually have no confidence in Davey even being able to bring a decent striker into the club.

Mostto deserves a go don't care what anyone says, Macken (37 appearences 8 goals) and Odejaye (52 appearences 4 goals) have in total played 89 games and scored 12 fooking goals, how can they still be tried week in week out and how can people actually still say "That KO has still got potential he just needs a goal" what he needs is a one way train ticket to Cheltenham.

Barnsley.......... compared to............. Sheffield United

We have a better goalkeeper
There aint much difference in the defensive players.........probably Killgallon swings it in their favour
Our midfield is far far better than Sheffield Uniteds when you look at JCR, Colace, De Silva, Howard

But but but...............when you look at their strike force.........they have Stead, Webber, Beattie, Sharpe plus the big guy bought from Watford, Henderson........all these to choose from
And this is why Sheffield United are tipped to go up this season
They have miles better strikers than Barnsley

If Barnsley had just two of these players we would be in the top 6 by now........because the rest of the Barnsley team, although not perfect, is comparable with other Championship teams. Our strike force is NOT comparable

Individual players mean very little

If they cannot be moulded into a team. A team that plays as a unit with the midfield offering defensive cover but also creating chances. At the minute we are playing like individuals with no cohesion between the defence, midfield and forward line.

Fernando Torres would not get 10 a season in our side at the minute.

Give us the tools and we'll finish the job

SD hasn't got the tools available to him
He has brought some fantastic players in...........but the forwards he has brought in have unfortunatly failed

He knows it......we know it......and more importantly..........PC knows it
We, us supporters are left to watch and wonder what it would be like if someone like Neil Shipperley was playing for us now

Stead to Ipswich.....forgot about that...but that just underlines the point being made

Sheffield United off load Stead...........when if Stead was playing for us would be our star striker (dunno)

We need better strikers than what we have got, the strike force is letting the whole team down...........end of.......full stop.........period

To be fair then

If by now Davey hasn't addressed the problems then that reflects badly on him.

Macken gets stick on here - he has to drop back to the halfway line to get the ball because very rarely does a ball come out of midfield for him to get on to.

Odejayi, as much as I'm willing him to be all that he should be, I think by now we have to accept he ain't ever. He has the physical presence and pace to scare defenders to death, he just seems unable to get himself set right.

Hume - the one player we have that looks dangerous. We aren't creating chances for him.

Mostto - not played.

Macken is a great link man between midfield and attack, but he's having to do the donkey work. That may change now our midfielders are all available, but there needs to be a drastic improvement in oerformances from the plyers and management.
