I've not criticised him once since he arrived and I suppose I would be classed as a "happy clapper" on this board. But he has really pee'ed me off.
When I was a kid watching them in the 70's, I dreamed of Oakwell being full and playing the first division. What have todays kids got to look forward too when the manager says that?
Dreams and ambitions of a generation of kids wiped out in one ill considered statement.
Theres no wonder he can't attract any players on loan.

So am I! I have written to the Chairman to express my distaste at these comments and I know of others who have aswell.
RE: I missed this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/networks/sheffield/aod.shtml?sheffield/footballheaven Hit the "5 minutes" fast forward button, then listen from there. Essentially he reckons that we can't afford to mount a challenge for promotion from this league and that, short of a money-no-object benefactor, the Prem is out of the reach of many clubs in our league. Which all in all is probably bang on the button. Storms, teacups, mountains and molehills. However, we can afford to make a challenge for survival in this league and no questions were answered as to why we still haven't made the types of signings everyone knew we needed last May.
Does Ritchie not realise that we were promoted spending... **** all just about 8 years ago when other clubs around us were spending millions.
Its about getting the right mix of players and spending money on players is relative. For example who would spend 12 million on players like Heskey, Cisse etc.
One persons 12 million pound player is somebody elses donkey.
