Brian is a good barnsley player but an average championship one. I also feel he'll struggle to improve on what Sheff Utd already have.

If the £600k fee is what we receive then its a fair price for an under performing player with 9 months on his contract. Tonge went for 1.5m, for which he was a proven championship player with premiership experience and has performaned at a high level consistently for years. Must we forget Brian has had a 3 month purple patch in his entire career.

If we are to believe the numerous rumours regards Brian's off field activities, the fact he wants more money than what we can afford or what hes worth and last but not least his performances on the pitch over the last 6 months I think its best for all concerned he leaves.

Finally, I find it no co-incidence that yesterday was our best performance by far without him in the team. The midfield looked solid and the defence hardly threatened because of this. Leon on the occassions ive seen looks a great little player and for me is a ready replacement.

Slate me if you like - but I just dont think we'll miss Brian has much as people are making out - certainly not based on what we've seen this year.

Agree we will be a better team without him, he never lived up to the high standards he set himself.
He thought he was better than he actually is and it showed in his performances and leadership.

I dont want to see him go

He can do a job for us - but no one can defend him and say he hasn't been the large contributing factor into his own downfall.

I think Dan that it's not all over, at least, until the fat lady sings. Someone suggested yesterday that if Davey is sacked before January there just might be a change in the
    Howard situation.

    If Howard leaves on Monday

then it doesnt matter who will be manager of BFC come January.

Any loan agreement will include a pre agreed transfer fee. There is no way any club would let a player leave of that stature of Howard without it leading to a perm move. Saying that, we are BFC so expect the unexpected!

The question is, if he does leave then would you really want him back in Jan. Personally i'd say no.

    I dont agree.

Set peices are great - best at the club - should have taken the pen. Given an extended run in the team accuracy will get better and you'll see a more rounded player.

For a little lad he doesnt shirk a tackle and the midfield yesterday with him in it looked solid.

I really don't know Dan I'm begining to become quite confused with the whole set up at the well and I suspect Davey is the nucleus of the onsett of how I feel.

Set pieces are great????? Every direct free kick ends up five yards wide or ten yards over

and whos are better? as Brian could only
    A)take with his left foot
    B) smash into the wall/first man

id rather we get it 2 yard over top or 3 yard a little wide and let them have a goal kick than smash into the wall and they hit us on a counter while we are all in there box trying to track back

I cant say that I am glad to see the back of him but neither do I think it is a disaster if he goes. He hasn't performed as a player this season and I think his style of captaincy must have a detrimental effect on team spirit as must the comments attributed to him about Davey.

Lets also remember that he has never scored from a free kick himself and the argument that he would have scored the penalty yesterday is nonsense as if he had been playing we may not have got into the position to get the penalty in the first place.

He wouldn`t know what a tackle was if it came up and bit him on the arse.

Hey GeorgeRobledo, we looked far better without Howard......

he has not performed well in a red shirt for ages, he has a real problem off the field of play, (he likes a drink, lots of drink.) you say Leon can't take a free kick, oh yes he bloody can, I understand you're upset at the departure of Howard, but, the truth is, Howard left the club some months ago, and I say it again, we look better by a mile without Howard, Anderson and Leon ooze class.

All this CRAP about Howard not playing well...............FFS read this !!!

Brian Howard was in the Championship team last season - the one chosen by the whole of the Championship players themselves
As an attacking midfield player he is therefore considered the BEST in the Championship........

Ok, I agree, he hasn't played well this season - but could this be because he has a dispute at the club regarding wages ???
Are you at your best at work if you know you are being underpayed ???

If Tonge is worth £2 MILLION...................you can double that for Brian Howard (even when he hasen't played well this season).

Its an absolute disgrace that he is being sold to a local rival for £600 k /poo /poo /poo
