So it would seem. To be honest I don't see a well known manager fitting in anyway. Most will want full autonomy rather than fitting into the coaching role. Heckingbottom seems like the sensible choice. Just wait til we lose a couple though and he's branded as having created the worst team in our history.
Have I missed an announcement? The last statement from the club I read said that it was both Paul Heckingbottom and Tommy Wright who will be taking responsibility for first team matters 'for the time being'. However, since the game on Sunday Tommy Wright's name hasn't been mentioned at all on here and it's just Hecky taking charge. I hope we go with these two until then end of the season (at least) and I think that's what we'll do, but it's both of them isn't it, not just Hecky? Unless I've missed something.
Correct Jay 100% both of them until the end of the season, it will only change if Johnson comes back in for Tommy but that is doubtful at this moment in time.
My understanding is that as things stand Hecky is in charge with Tommy as his assistant and unless they make a proper mess then this is how we'll keep things for the rest of the season. So the many references are that Hecky will be our 'interim' first team head coach and Tommy will remain in his current position. I could be wrong but that is how I have interpreted the messages coming from Oakwell.
Totally agree. We're flying, injury free squad, first XI picks itself, ex red and Barnsley lad at the helm. No decision to make right now. Only slight concern is losing Long after Saturday. Big boots to fill.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hecky and Tommy until end of season for me. Continuity, passion for the club, and if it doesn't work out then a decision can be made end of season to give the new man all summer to build a squad and have a pre-season. Logic should dictate on this one.
On rayjo deedar last night Ben said Paul in charge assisted/supported by Tommy. Sent from my SM-T520 using Tapatalk
It's Hecky as caretaker/interim head coach, Tommy caretaker/interim assistant head coach. I think that was clear from looking at the dugout/technical area Sunday too...
