you recieve this report from a referee. What would you think?

    Cards:
    O'Hanlon
    Yellow
Reason: Professional foul by last man pulling back and tripping Hayes.

    Thorpe
    Yellow
    Deliberate violent conduct

If i was reading it the referee would be suspended immediatly for ignoring the rules of the game which states a red card for both offences.

I may be late, but I agree!

As a qualified ref myself, I also wondered what the bl**dy hell the ref was up to. To me, both Swindon players should have walked. And that's not my bias - them's the rules.

If he saw the incidents clear enough to give a decision, he has to apply the "letter of the law" (as he did with Robbie)

MIND, if the ref had booked Carbon for kicking the ball away after THAT marauding left wing run, when he did get booked coulda been a sending off. And there's me thinking the ref had a decent game! (it's all relative)

True but the booking he got was a joke in itself. Mr Leake is a rubbish referee, has been every game I've seen him officiate. He's one of only a small handful of league referees I know the name of, and that's for a reason.

He could also have booked Carbon for getting involved after the elbow incident on Wroe, that only saw their player booked!

    the difference is

he can claim that in his interpretation carbon wasnt using threatning behaviour etc.
the fact that he gave the foul for an elbow in the face means he has NO choice but to issue a red. The fact he gave a foul by the last man when hayes was in the penalty area heading towards goal with nobody between him and the net means he HAS to give a red card.
