Maybe he didnt think these kids mentioned could do a job for us at Championship level,he seemed to have been mislead when he signed Mannone being told he could go straight into our first team when he clearly couldnt,it wouldnt be fair to blame the young keeper but our demise started with his mistakes, ideally we want experienced players to come in.
RE: In fairness to Andy Ritchie............Repeat In fairness to Andy Ritchie He is a good motivator of players and promotes a good team spirit But, he see's a problem in the side and dosen't sort it He has known, like the rest of us have known, that we need a centre half and 2 strikers since we were in the 1st division He hasn't dealt with this problem Therefore he must be removed from his job And in saying that I am fooooking absulutly pissed off because i have had to post it Because in Andy ritchie we have a good manager but he has got a flaw in his managerial approach that does not allow him to succeed
Despite our transfer innactivity We were lucky.
Factiest fact in the world of facts.
Rode our luck

No but neither is intransigence
If this is the case.
Grown men have a propensity to be stubborn as mules and childish. GS & AR are, I suspect, no exceptions.

RE: but sacking a manager isnt the answer...........Why???? If he wasn't getting the best out of the players you would sack him But he is But if he wouldn't bring better playrers in, you would also sack him So its a hard one to call But Shep has been saying for sometime about the problems regarding Ritchie So he has to go.........and I'm pissssed off about it - big time
we have been down the road of sacking managers got rid of bassett cos we were only 10th in this same division ... problems rolled on from there really
why did he get a keeper on loan... we weren't desperate. i could understand it if he had taken an experianced one on loan to cover colgan. but to stick a young unknown in the nets was very risky. taking a young forward such as bates would not have been such a big risk and it may have payed off
Agreed All downhill from there (well, appointing super John wasn't the best decision either). Bassett should've stayed longer, although I can't remember the details of him leaving, so perhaps I'm talking crap.
RE: we have been down the road of sacking managers Yes, but we are in a different situation now. The board can't sit and watch as this Club drops back into the Ale House League. AR will force their hand unless he signs players. We saw the weaknesses of this team last season and we have a weaker squad now than we did then. The players he says are not good enough for us to sign on loan have gone to other Championship Clubs. It doesn't exactly paint AR in a good light does it. AR has to be seen to be doing something to get us out of the mess we are in and he is doing nothing by the Chairmans own admission. If he was a manager in Industry he would have had his P45 weeks ago.
