In reply to Championship keepers better than Luke Steele....

...yesterday I said I could name 15 better Champ keepers than LS. My point was that he's good, just not as good as people on here think. Anyway, I was challenged to name just 5 better keepers so here's my 15 plus a few extras just to prove a point.

Now ask yourself if LS is worth an over the top contract? And which of the above keepers would you honestly see him displace?

IS WHAT IS STEELES WAGE DEMANDS COMPAIRED TO ANY OF THE ABOVE???
I WOULD SAY IF WE DID A LIST BASED ON THAT HE WOULD BE NEAR THE BOTTOM TOO

 

Well I was the deluded one who responded to you and like I said in my post the list of names would only be your opinion and after seeing it I stand by that. I would have only a few (no more than five) of them named by you as better than Luke.

 

I'll give you Schmeichel and Butland.

But Luke (in my opinion) is on a par with your Speroni's, Kuszczak's, Loach, Almunia, Kirkland etc.

Saw a bit of Palace this year, and Speroni dropped howlers regularly.


I can honestly say you haven't watched Lee Camp, either. Absolute dogshit. And again, I saw a bit of Norwich where he was on loan and he was a right mess, and is universally rated as the worst keeper their fans have seen for years. Although, the Canaries do have a history of quality keepers - Gunn, Green and Ruddy for instance.



Still bemused as to why folk are dumbing down Luke Steele's qualities.

Fair enough, he might be on his way, but I'm not buying into this "ah well he isn't that good anyway" theory. Usual tarn response when we lose a player that we REALLY value.

 

By the way Speroni is no longer a championship keeper so can't be listed therefore I'd say only two, maybe three are better than Luke. Even less than the five I first said.

Speroni has been awesome but has had a torrid year...Wayne Hennessy has been great difficult to know what he's like now,Butland may turn out to be top quality, Schmeichel drops more b******s than Steele...great shot stopper though,some decent keepers on there but none better than Steele for me...and Bogdan is a joke.
