In the cold light of day.....I'd prefer the SF to be at Old Trafford.

I know the SF will be a great day out an' that, but god forbid we win it, then going back a month later won't quite feel as 'special'. Am I alone?

win win situation if you ask me

**** sentiment on this one. If we lose the semi it would be awful to think we were so close to wembley. if we lose at least we will get to see us play there before 2012 when it all goes tits up! ;)

i can see where you are coming from, but no

i see wembley every day from the top of my street and never in my wildest dreams did i think that we'd get there in the FA cup. a play off final some years in the distance, maybe, but not in the FA cup.

losing against ridsdale would be hard to take, but we get to see our team at the new wembley, so we're winners already. if we then go on to get to the final i'm pretty sure that i'll be able to muster some more excitement.

and don't forget we'll be back there for the first game of next season...

    Agreed. I dont understand why

We have to trek all the way down to that London for a game of footy thats not even a final. I can get excited about us winning the cup but cant get excited about going to a place that just likes to rob folk who dont know the place better.
I feel it might lose something if we win and go back (and im not just talking about the cash)
If it had been Manchester we could have been back in Tarn celebrating in the pubs that night. Instead we will be stuck on a coach for 4 hours.
In any case we would be back at Wembley before long in the play offs wont we?

    I agree

    It's risking it

1 trip to London without getting mugged is lucky, 2 trips is unlikely.

Thats the problem isn't it, people say but its a chance to get to wembley and they don't care if its not the final but by that theory they should move every cup game to wembley, that way we're guarenteed a trip. The whole reason that going to wembley is so special is because it is reserved for only the highest occasion, not for the match before the big match.

I think the main reason is

That there's a stadium to pay for!

    Unfortunately.

    The FA said that themselves

it is purely a financial decision for them. They should have had to pay for the bloody thing themselves after deciding to go for the most expensive option. Wembley should have become a self financing football museum for the nation with a new stadium built in birmingham for a fraction of the cost.

    I Think

The FA have sold a lot of corporate packages that include 2 FA Cup Semi- Finals
