Davey has realised that our away form is what is killing us-so he tried a 4-1-4-1 formation-fine -IF you have the players to play that formation
unfortunately we didn't-Kay was wasted -Makalele he ain't!
Nads is not and never will be a lone striker-he ran his nads off but didn't win one header from our goal/defence long balls all day
McCann is a worry if he can't up the pace of his game
the defensive positioning for both goals was woeful-watch the highlights and(Sky + viewers! pause it at the right momemt-4 or 5 defenders all out of position for both goals)
we need ASAP 1) a defensive coach 2) an attacking midfielder 3) an experienced central defender with some Prem and lots of Championship history-see point 1)-it could be a dual role-and I don't mean Ehioghu 4) a proper target man in the Shipps role-but not him he's past it
all is definitely not lost-we have the same home record as Wednesday-we just desperately need to pick up some away points

Only problem I can see with point 3 is Wages. We announced recently, unless it's false memory syndrome, that we have the lowest wage bill in this division. I also seem to recall we seemed quite proud of the fact too. I can't see anyone with any amount of the required experience wanting to come here for the wages that we'll probably offer.
If we have the lowest wage bill in the division perhaps we have some scope for bringing in higher paid players?
Possibly But I dare say that there's a wage structure to be adhered to if we are to achieve Shep's stated priority aim of clearing the clubs debt in the next couple of years (can't remember what timescale I once read we were working to). Didn't Colgan say at the start of the season that his re-signing for us wasn't money related & that he could have got a hell of a lot more if he'd moved?
