Rugby League and Cricket have left footie standing. Rugby Union had the right idea years ago. Cricket - dissent or poor conduct, you are swiftly dealt with after the match (the game continues for the sake of the crowd). Witness Lehman for Yorkshire last week. I believe some of these niggly players and divers will think twice if they think every move is going to be scrutinised after. And hit them with a fine ...... footballers are greedy Barstewards and a ban only gives them more leisure time. I like the idea of cricketers being made to sacrifice all or part of their match-fee. It works. Rugby League - Any doubt whatsoever is referred to the video ref. Although there is a hold up to the game, it enhances the whole day out similar to American Football. It might only be an 80 minute game but it can go on for a hundred and the fans are mostly satisfied at the end that all has been fair and sorted. Rugby Union - talk to a ref out of turn and your instantly in the ****. I hate these footballers who are caught swearing and shouting at a ref ..... just make it a rule that they CAN'T DO IT !
they already supposed to do it in football, the rule is "foul and abusive language" is classed as a red card. Unfortunately, the ref's don't apply it as it is stated.
How does increasing the length of time you are at the game enhance the day out, when all thats added is "dead time"</p> They are desperate to reduce the "dead time" between plays in American Football but TV has got them by the balls. There is no continuation in play , you can have 6-7 minutes between plays. Its crazy!</p>
