Ended up sat at a table next to 5 of the ugliest, meanest, most ignorant, uneducated total K$$b heads I have ever seen.</p> Boasting about how no 'stupid laws' were going to stop them smoking, that we were living in a police state and saying that the police weren't interested because they smoked openly at Morecombe and a policeman said "Hey, I've got better things to do with my time than round you lot up for smoking!"</p> "He's got that bloody reight" snarled K$$$ Head 1</p> "Aye, Feckers, let's hope there's some bloody trouble like in't eighties, they'll not be bothered abart any on us smoking then" growled K$$$ Head 2</p> "Aye, **** 'em, I'll smoke" bragged K$$$ Head 3 </p> "Hey, did you know that the Club can get a massive fine if you are caught smoking and then you'll be banned from football grounds for...?" (me) </p> "Oh ha bloody ha, I'm too bloody owd to be worried abart that. What the gunna do?, lock me up? put me away? No bloody chance. I want a smoke and there's ways an means and if I want a bloody smoke I'll get one, **** it!"</p> "Aye, **** it, b$$$$$ds! "</p> "Errrrrrrrr"</p> My question is, why did I bother saying anything?</p> How can you talk to, deal with people like this? </p>
I know exactly what you mean Just after the ban came into force I was in the Gatehouse and asked the landlord how he felt it had/would affect business and some one in the pub piped up about "taking away civil liberties" and I just rose to the bait rather than just saying I was having a private conversation and just asking....never did get to hear what the landlord had to say on the matter!
It's hopeless talking to people like that ES. If hubby would have been with me he would have told me to keep my mouth shut. I should know that you can't talk or discuss anything with people like those at the pub yesterday.
RE: Im blame the teachers myself. </p> Aye, I've seen and taught younger versions of those whom I saw in the pub yesterday.</p> Like favva, like son springs to mind.</p>
I stopped smoking about 5 weeks ago... ... in my opinion this is one of the best laws ever introduced - if you want to smoke there's no problem just go outside, but people inside can enjoy fresh air and not go home smelling of smoke. For people like me there is no temptation to smoke as you know that in a pub, bar etc no one will be smoking. In Germany when we go out about 70% of people smoke never realised just how bad it was until now. Brilliant law!
RE: I stopped smoking about 5 weeks ago... if its such a good thing, how come all the none smokers are stood outside talking to us smokers, load off balls to me this law it should be up to the landlord , smoking pub, non smoking pub I rest my case yer honour
I know what you mean mate... As an ex smoker I know only too well that having a cig with your mates is enjoyable. All I'm saying is that it makes it easier for people who want to give up to succeed because they are not tempted all the time by their mates smoking around them. I've tried loads of times to give up and never succeeded because sooner or later I've had a few beers and pinched a cig off a mate, then it all starts again. I suppose there could be a case for a separate room with air extractors etc but I still think it's a good law
im with you tina i like to whack off and as yet the club havent provided me with an area to do this.... proper against my civil liberties i tell thee all.......... :$
RE: I stopped smoking about 5 weeks ago... Its an Health and Safety at work issue as far as I am aware.</p> Thats why it has been banned.</p>
Its like this. Why should we have our rights removed?I completely agree with the ban where people have no choice but why can't we have a place set out that doesn't affect all the right on brigade?I sit in the Ponty. Can't see how it would hurt all the whingers if we could stand under the floodlight by the west stand at half time.
