In your heart of hearts can you see Stones being selected in world cup squad?

    30 man provisional squad has to be picked by mid May.


    Are the likes of Smalling Caulker Davies more deserving selection?


    Cahill and Jagielka and maybe Phil Jones I would go with but for more Stones is a defender confident on the ball and coming forward with it and can play full back and centre half.

    If I was picking defenders for the world cup right now I would take the following 7-

    Baines
    Shaw
    Cahill
    Jagielka
    Jones
    Johnson
    Stones

    If Smalling goes then something is not right, he was a highly-rated player who has turned out to be pretty average but will probably get picked simply because he plays for Man Utd.

    Phil Jones hasn't really got any better either but I can't think of anyone to replace him, we do seem light on top centre backs at the moment.

    I'd go along with that apart from cole been in for shaw, a think hodgson will go for him with his experienced
