I would say that based on Don Rowing's interview re Robins that it's total ********. Didn't Don say he just needs to meet Patrick but he's ticked all the boxes. Hardly stalled talks.

    My favourite sentences this week...

    1. "established them as a mid-table Championship side during his tenure" extrafootie.co.uk
    2. "Lets f*ck Chelsea" Michel Platini
    3. "Man donates his second kidney by accident" MSN

    The reality is

Don and Barry are merely paid employees, whoever Patrick wants, Patrick will get.

    Why's that then?

Simply going by your criteria for a successful managerial appointment at Championship level, there's nothing to suggest Ince will be any better than Robins.

Both have managed at the same level for almost all of their careers, with the exception that Ince has had more money to play with and had a very unsuccessful break from bottom end management with a club thats arguably not much bigger than our own, once prem money is taken out of the equation.

Neither has any experience of the Championship (with the exception of Ince trying to get relegated to it) and both can be presumed to have equally **** all knowledge about what it takes to do well in our division.

If he can get whoever he wants, it's a shame he doesn't rate Mourinho as highly as I do.

Ince has had 2 sides promoted

Robins hasnt. Ince has managed in League 1 and in the Premiership, albeit for a short time. Robins has managed in League 2, thats it. Ince has a much higher profile within the game and therefore more likely to attract the calibre of player we struggle to. Robins has little or no profile outside League 2.

Have a look at their relative track records on soccerbase (I've posted it somewhere below), Ince's pisses all over Robins.

    You go on soccerbase

and before you say it, there's very little difference these days between Conference football and League 2.

    is there any point?

If you're trying to say there's no difference between the two and you'd rather have Robins over Ince, we'll leave it there.

    Cant see Ince

failed spectacularly at Blackburn and was surely lucky that MK took him in, if he left them in the **** again aqfter such a short time and then blew it with us then his reputation is virtually shot

    If the talks have stalled...

... why have Rotherham sent him on "Gardening leave"?

They have a game against a local rival on Saturday, and they don't want him involved?

Paul Ince got his first managerial post at Macclesfield

In the autumn of 2006, when they were adrift at the foot of Division 2. He steered them to safety from relegation by the end of the season. He was appointed manager of MK Dons in the summer of 2007 and won promotion at the first time of asking in 2007/08. Blackburn Rovers made him their manager in the summer of 2008, but sacked him before Christmas. He returned to MK Dons this summer.

    To be fair to him

he got the Blackburn job at a time when they were looking to cut back, selling rather than buying, they gave him 21 games and sacked him after a run of defeats with 13 points on the board. I expected him to walk back into a decent Championship job, but he's started well at MK, he's ambitious enough, dont see any reason why we couldnt go for him and its all about what we offer.
