BBC Symphony Orchestra kicking off with Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Julirt Overture. Without any announcement (including from Katie Derham on BBC) they came on and played Le Marsellaise. Fantastic gesture of solidarity. Prommers already standing of course, but the whole auditorium rose to it's feet. Not a dry eye here at Kaht Towers. Not a night for political points scoring, but a lot of fraternite tonight.
Elgar's Cello Concerto. Seen his statue (complete with bicycle) many times outside Hereford Cathedral.
Excellent interpretation but the du Pre reading is yet to be surpassed IMHO Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
