Is Rehan Ahmed still out in India ? If so, surely he should have at least one game ? If not, we’re playing India in their own country with only one specialist spinner ??!! Not good especially when we got wupped 4-1 in the T20’s ( with playing one spinner )
The slow scoring of Jacob Bethell brought about batsmen at the other end having to play high risk shots and losing their wicket. For a middle order batsman his strike rate is pretty low (80).
All well and good playing 2 or 3 spinners but the sad truth is that, apart from Rashid, we don't have any decent spinners. Pointless playing Ahmed, remember the Indians are used to playing against high class spinners. Perversely the only English spinner to look anything like is Ahmed's younger brother currently playing for U19s in S Africa.
Yeah get your point but we’ve got to play our best even if it’s all we’ve got. Ahmed has to rid himself of the potential tag and there’s only one way that’ll happen

Not really true at all. He came in at 111/4 after we’d lost 4/36; he scored only 20 from his first 40 balls - that was about where Buttler got out after a really good partnership to get back on track (top edging a half tracker, he’d whack that for six 99 times out of a hundred); he scored 31 from 24 after that. He was initially hanging around, building a partnership with Buttler, no expansive shots. Buttler’s fifty and out was actually even slower - he too had to play the conditions and the situation though. The issue was losing three wickets in seven balls from 75/0; not Jacob Bethell. He actually played sensibly. All that said I reckon India will chase this down with plenty of overs to spare.
