I'd heard a little bit, and also seen a bit more on the internet, that there was a possibility (again) of the Woodhead line being reopened mainly for goods transport between Sheffield and Manchester.
Can anyone confirm the latest news, or once again are we awaiting a non-existant story which was never on the cards and would therefore always be doomed to failure?
I for one would fervently hope it could be reopened.

That is about a bypass for Mottram and Tintwhistle (that hill where ur always queueing up when you go over to Manchester. They reckon it will cause more traffic going through the Bridge end of Penistone and more traffic up hill to Hoylandswaine. Because they got a petition together it set it back about 8 years or summat

Whinging sod these Penistoners. I know, i have the privilage of working there
