"The people running the club are doing an outstanding job and long may that continue . Off the field , we are back on a solid financial footing and on it , we're playing the football people like to watch . You have to keep the Premiership 'goal' in mind , but it is difficult to put a timescale on anything and,for now,we hope to stay in this division . Last year we survived , this year is about consolidation and next year is all about competitiveness."
I find it amazing on here the stick Cryne and Shephard have had to endure.Since they took over everythings been on the up.Clearing the debts, playoff final ,promotion and now looking like an established championship side.We must be the envy of many clubs throughout the country.
http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1123212,00.html Link here - good to hear from Cryne, and the long term plan seems sensible. Sounds as though things are only going to go forward from here, so lets just hope the performances on the field can continue. Building slowly there is no reason why we can't compete in this league. As for the premier league, well maybe one day, and it's good that it's acknowledged that anything is possible.
About the £4,000,000 interest free loan, is it all still outstanding or has some of it been paid off?
RE: That is not quite what he said and you know it. nt I seem to remember that AR did come out with that statement. It was at the time he was saying we were a League 1 club who were over achieving. That would have been just before his contract was paid up.
I along with many others on the board gave AR a bit of a lesson in BFC history.

RE: That is not quite what he said and you know it. nt What he said was , it would take a man with a lot of money to get us back into the Premiership again and that we were a division one side that had over achieved the season before. This season on this very board we have had plenty of people saying that they did not want us to go up again and they thought it was impossible for us to do so, why is that different. Ritchie took a lot of stick from some on here for saying what we all know to be the truth. It does not matter anyway what he said, he is no longer involved with this club and its about time all the sniping at him was done with.
RE: That is not quite what he said and you know it. nt I don't believe it to be the truth.
Ritchie lacked ambition.
You always have to be positive and look forwards and upwards
Davey is doing that.
If we succeed this season, he isn't going to be sitting back saying "That's it, we're a Championship Club and we can't go any further!"
Is he hell! He will be going out to improve us to get into the Top 6
Both he and his backroom team are highly ambitious and determined to succeed.
Ritchie let himself down 'big style' with those comments.
In my opinion, his words sounded his own death knell.
Cryne obviously wasn't having any of it and look who has been proved right!

Tina how can you keep positive and banish negative thoughts ? when life keeps dumping a pile of **** on U?
Serious question.
I just know tomorrows going to be a bad Day.
