    If the fixtures had been different...

    Had we played Uruguay first, maybe no Suarez.

    Had we played Italy second 36 year old Pirlo might have been too tired.

    So reckons my brother in law Steve. Who isn't a helicopter pilot.

    I agree mate, it's all fine lines. I really don't think that we played too badly at all. Certainly we were far worse on the eye in Euro 2012, when we topped a very tough group and went home undefeated. Granted, our defence looked much more solid two years ago, but as for going forward and general ball retention, we were pitiful barring 45 minutes against Sweden.

    I agree. Very fine lines this time.

    Naive defending & a couple of near misses cost us in the end. 4 years ago we were total gash. Now only 17.5% gash.
