    The word 'berk' originates from the 1960s, from the cockney rhyming slang 'Berkshire Hunt' which was used in place of 'lovely person'.

    So the next time you refer to someone as a berk, you are actually calling them a front bottom.

    Berk appears in the new Oxford English dictionary this year for the first time!
