Sunday Mirror today - Report ..... "PAY UP, BLADES" 'Spare us the street corners the sermons. Don't bother claiming the moral high ground. By taking up to £25 million from West Ham without High Court scrutiny, Sheffield United have got their blood money.' Now this is the interesting bit ....... 'Perhaps now they will do the right thing and pay Barnsley's medical bills. Incurred because of the unprovoked, unpunished, ASSAULT (exact words) on Iain Hume.' What do people think of this then ?
Just maybe something will happen now Perhaps the delay and apparent lack of activity was due to BFC waiting to see what happened with the West Ham case. I'm no legal expert but I still think something may happen. It would also explain why there has been hardly any comments from the club, manager or Iain himself about the case. I hope we DO take action. I can't believe it will just be allowed to fade away into the past.
it doesn't say directly under the small article i posted. its in the bottom corner of a page, with 'michael Calvin: hard-hitting views every sunday' at top of the page. so not sure if the hume article falls under that, as a dotted line separates the main article on lampard, and a couple of others alongside the Hume article. Its page 55 if anyone has the paper itself.
Another thought I've just had Sheffield United's case was based around the money they lost by being relegated due to (in their daft opinion) Tevez playing illegally for West Ham. Maybe BFC were waiting for this precedent to become established before making their own case? Dunno, but I still hope something will happen about it.
Thats it then, thats why we're playing rubbish Cos if we go down we can sue Sheffield United for 25 million loss of income for the next few years because of the injury to our best striker.
heres a link to the article im talking about. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/columnists/michaelcalvin/2009/03/14/pay-up-blades-115875-21197795/
But I bet it does just fade away, its called backbone... and we lack it in every department. If Sheffield Utd could take it outside the FA/Fl FIFA whatever's hands then why the **** can't we.You watch 'Toastie' we will get **** all except an EX player that cost us a million plus. But if we cannot get nowt I sure as Hell hope Mr Hume can get summat ,after all its that lads career thats in the balance.
Could this maybe an unofficial green light to sue Sheffield United which we might be waiting for? If we do go down then the theory that our top scorer and record signing at the time was put out early in the season by what was an assault. How much money. Surely we are the suffering party in this and we have a right to compensation. It’s all good saying we are insured for such events, but claiming insurance means higher premiums. Don’t know how it works but if a claim is made then prices got up for asset (employee) insurance?
