You can't disagree with much in that article. shame it won't make a jolt of difference with the powers that be.
He who is greedy is always in want. Seems to sum up the PL era nicely. Take, take, take. They won't be happy until they have ruined English football.
if a club goes down they only give it back to the fans to build back up again, then take it over again, its easy money for them.directive needs to come from gov't the ones thats supposed to protect us you know the ones, those that are filling out their expenses forms.think we'll have to put up with it see which way it evolves like we've always done. "shame though"
Thought that was a brilliant article. However, I don't understand your comment, Marlon, on " directive needs to come from the govt". What on earth has it got to do with them? People choose to spend money on the EPL, on the shirts, on all the crap that goes with it to over-inflate the egos and bank accounts of the many shameless Premier League players out there. Just the same as people spend money on many other things. Let the govt do what they are supposed to do, and not get involved in a sport that the vast majority of Britons couldn't give a toss about.
we'll to be honest not just football needs protecting even though its our national sport.its all aspects of society that should be protected from the extremes of capitalism, it may be a good thing if managed ok but if gov't dont step in they'll strip everything bear bugger consequences then we'll be left with nothing.i don't think thats acceptable and if thats not what gov't is for to protect and serve its people then why does it exist.imo
some good points but hard to see what can be done I agree with pretty much every word but the problem for me is I grew up supporting Barnsley FC - in the days when you could stand and it was cheap to get in Before TV and millionare owners ruined the game If it wasnt for Barnsley I would be unlikely to go to any games elsewhere but I cant bring myself to stop going to a club I supported for over 40 years and even if I did what good would it do - none of the giants would care if Barnsley went under and the owners of Chelsea, Man City etc couldnt give a toss about the fans - all they want is to buy a team and win things and sod the rest Sooner or later it will all implode but probably not for a while yet
