Hopefully we should know today if the Portsmouth game goes ahead. And if Cole/Russell are in the final Jamaica squad.

Why wouldn’t it? We don’t have 3 call ups do we? Do they?

I heard at the weekend that Pompey don't have any as both of their international players are injured, though I haven't looked to check whether that's true or not.

Edit: had a quick look. They've a lad who plays for Australia who seems to be available. Then they've another Aussie, and a couple of Welsh internationals, but they all appear to be injured at present.

There is the possibility of Connell being called up for Ireland (u21 or main squad)

He won't be called up. Their first team appears to be be mostly players playing at at least championship level, and he's too old for the 21s.

You are probably right about the senior squad. But u21 can field several 'over age' players. James Milner appeared 46 times for England u21 up until he was 23 1/2.

Edit. Forget that it only applies to tournament campaign, where you have to be 21 at the start of qualifying campaign.

USA match in 10 days time, maybe that season ending injury ain't that bad. Never did get an answer as to what was up with him or anything from the club despite him personally telling fans all about it.

Due to Readings (due to international call ups.) game being postponed against Bistol rovers.
Rovers are up in arms having to play 8 games in the last 30 days of the season.

What's the injury mate and any updates.
    Edit.
Just read the Yorkshire post article. Appears it was not as bad as some thought. A knock against Bolton and played through it.

Pines told @LucaBywater7 himself that he was out for the season, seems strange USA would pick him for a match in 10 days time, maybe they're not as itk about his injury.

I’ve looked at the USA mens team current “roster” and no mention of Pines being called up. Is this just a rumour?

Was told he was in the provisional 48. Couldn't see him myself when looked. but if you look at the Jamaican provisional squad. Cole isn't there but Russell is. ?

In 1990 I was in the provisional 60 million for the World Cup in Italy.

Certainly not in the final roster.
Still not sure about Cole and Russell. As we speak,
Portsmouth don't have enough call ups apparantly. So more than likely the game will be on.

Was what was said. It's not unusual.
England had a provisional squad of 55 for the 2022 world cup.

Cole and Russell are in a provisional 60 man squad according to a Chronicle article.

29th feb. Part of the article.

They have so far named a 60-man squad which will be significantly reduced when the final list is announced.

Barnsley are due to play League One leaders Portsmouth on March 23 in a potentially crucial game in the promotion race. They could postpone the match if they have three call-ups but the only other player thought to be likely to get one is Fabio Jalo for Portugal under 19s and he is recovering from injury. Cole is Barnsley’s top-scorer with 17 goals.
