    The story from the Beeb

Notts County face a battle with four other clubs to sign ex-Brentford midfielder Eddie Hutchinson, according to Magpies boss Steve Thompson.
The 24-year-old left the Bees after he was not offered a new deal this summer.

"He has spoken to Port Vale, Barnsley and Huddersfield, but his girlfriend is due to give birth very soon," Thompson told County's website.

"So he doesn't really want to move away from London. Oxford have come in for him too, I'm just awaiting a decision."

Thompson has already made 10 new signings since his appointment at Meadow Lane.

Didn't get offered a new contract at League 1 Brentford. I'm getting a bit worried now, Hope something will be announced tommorrow when the contracts run out.

    RE: Nar.

Might be a clogger, but if he goes to Oxford I shall start thinking that there's a conspiracy regarding getting the Reds out of the Championship. Isn't anyone
    coming to Oakwell ?
