Hi Guys. Joined the board today and would just like to say hello. I'm a Dundee United supporter and I have for around the past 5 years followed the fortunes of BFC. Infact it was your great FA Cup run when you played Chelsea and Liverpool and the infamous elbow incident by that thug Morgan on Hume which started my taking an interest in Barnsley. Ive attended Oakwell a couple of times and hope to do so again before the end of the season. I just love football but hate all those big money laden clubs such as Man U/City Chelsea Arsenal etc, much preferring to watch and take an interest in real down to earth football played by clubs as yourselves. BTW I do post on Barnsley Mad so some of you may know me. I do hope that I will have as much fun and banter with you guys as I do with some of the Tykes Mad posters. Heres hoping anyway.
Re: Afternoon Ian Cheers Mate. I'm still finding my feet here with the set up on the board but I'm sure I'll get along fine. Hows things Big man? Hope alls well.
Fine, thanks mate The turnround since Flitcroft took over has been quite remarkable, as I'm sure the lads & lasses on Tykesmad will also have mentioned. It's not only the upturn in results that's lifted everyone's mood, but the style of play & commitment from all the players, from the first whistle to the last.
Re: Fine, thanks mate Do you know Red Lemonade ? He lives in Dundee and posts on here. His real name is Mark and I think he one of them Gays.
Re: Fine, thanks mate Aye the good results you have been witnessing has not bypassed me. Lets hope the cup tie does us no damage. The jury is out on whether I want us to progress in the cup or whether a cup exit and total concentration on league safety might be the best option. Whats your view?
Re: Fine, thanks mate No never heard of him mate. If hes gay then I'd guess he supports Dundee. Why do you ask? Are you trying to get in "touch" with him. Ha Ha.
I'm greedy I want both a good cup run and for the great league run to continue! Just thought you'd like to know, United's is now the first result I look for now after Barnsley's due to you. I still have a soft spot for Inverness, Ross County & Queen Of The South (because of holidaying in the areas) & Celtic (family reasons). The Arabs need to convert some of the draws into victories and get further up the league. What are your thoughts on Jackie McNamara's appointment?
Re: Fine, thanks mate Welcome aboard arabian_ian. Its a mad house most of the time, and some of the posters on here do like to throw their toys around their bedrooms sometimes, but they are a great bush of lads & lasses really & will willingly help you out if possible.
Re: I'm greedy Absolutely delighted with the appointment mate. Got off to a flyer with the 3-0 cup win over the huns and followed that up with a home win v Hearts. Now a bit of a tester on Saturday with a trip to the East End of Glasgow. Never easy there, so we will see what the new management team are all about. TBH there is nothing between 2nd top and 2nd bottom in the league so a few wins on the bounce could see us get right up that league but unfortunately every one else will also see it that way.
I think Jackie Mac Will get a tremendous reception. You're right, though. There doesn't appear to be much between the teams. So anyone who can go on a decent run could well grab a European place and I see no reason why that can't be United.
Re: I think Jackie Mac Will you be going to MKD on Saturday? TBH it is certainly winnable. Could prove to be a right money spinner given the right draw.
Re: stop crawling & tell 'im to sod off, be a nasty bugger like me Aye Im fine mate. Thought you were just a wee bit grumpy coz you never got any valentines this morning. Never mind mate always next year. Ha Ha.
Re: I think Jackie Mac I used to post on Tykes Mad as @apwhite13 so I've seen you about, Ian. Welcome to the only forum for everything tarn. Tykes Mad is *****. Especially since I left, obviously.
