Anyone had any dealings with this company? We've had a mailing today regarding government grants/energy efficiency measures. We're running a Glow Worm space saver that is over 40 years old, so there is some attraction if we are eligible for this scheme. But are intuECO reliable/trustworthy?

Any views/advice would - as ever - be welcome!

Where we live was target red with leaflets a year or so ago. It turned out the people who were sending out the leaflets were not related to the actual company and was some form of scam. At the time there were a few instances in Google about it round the country.

Not saying it’s the case this time but something to be aware of.

My brother in law got a grant for installing a heat pump as part of a very large renovation of his house on the south coast, so I'd certainly suggest most if not all would be eligible. Maybe look on the govt website, they usually signpost to official companies or even start with your energy company. I think Octopus even manage the grant claim for you.

My further inquiries suggest that this firm is an intermediary. Presumably, they take a cut from the installers they work with. I concluded that it was better to look at BMBC's website, which was helpful. That suggested that it would be better to contact installers offering the scheme directly. Whilst we would never have qualified for assistance on financial grounds, I thought we might come within the health condition/vulnerability grounds. Given my background, I wanted to see the actual wording of the scheme, and concluded that we would not qualify. The intuECON flyer gave an exaggerated blurb as to who/what would qualify. Good example of the old maxim, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!"
