    whats the latest rumours? l thought it was October but some phone companies are predicting xmas. I'm due an upgrade so holding out.

    Apple have just announced a media event on 4th October. Could be iPhone 5 announcement.
    If so, it should be in shops a few week after that.

    Iv been told an Iphone 5 might not even come out but only an update for the Iphone4 by someone i know who works within Apple

    It may not, there loads of rumours going around.
    Could just be IOS 5 launch. But also iPhone 4GS and / or cheap budget iPhone 4.
    Other rumour is a new iPod Touch.
    That's what apple are good at - creating hype without actually saying anything.

    I am in the same position as you - my 3GS is up for renewal but I dont want to sign up for a new contract on a 4 days before the iphone 5 is announced

    Macumours is a much more plausible site than footy rumours by the way - but their story is still just a rumour

    Lets see what October 4 brings

    Had galaxy s2 Better than i phone, got Htc 3d evo better than both of them ;)

    going to be get an iPhone 5 for my upgrade, Blackberry just aren't up to scratch and i don't really trust Android at the moment.

    plus i have bought literally 100's of apps already for my iPod touch so it just makes sense really.
