I seem to have an bit of a problem with my iphone

Plugged it in to my pc today and itunes came up with new version availlable and also new ios available

like an idiot i clicked on both boxes and so it tried to do both at the same time

Initially it reset the phone but then gave an error in restarting

Giving phone a hard reset (Home and power buttons together ) and rebooting PC got past that but then had a problem with records not matching

another reset and restart of itunes and it finally came up and its restored data linked to the original apps - but none of my purchased / downloaded apps have been restored

also the phone keeps restarting and each time it launches itunes it comes up with the restore screens to restore as a new phone or my iphone

anyone any ideas how I get back to as I was this morning?

Go into your account in iTunes and click around on a few buttons and your purchase history is there which you can download again ,I know cos I had to do it myself.

I 've not got that far - for now I am stuck in itunes - every time I connect my phone it comes up with a message asking me to restore or setup as a new phone
When I restore - it restores and restarts and I get back to the same message - so it seems that the restore crashed somehow and doesnt tell me the phone has restored

Anyone know if I lose all the data it has restored if I click on setup as a new phone?

Your iPhone will have been backed up - can't you reset it as a new one then sync it?

    YAY got it all back!

After much reading of many forums - you wouldnt believe how many people have had similar issues - quite a lot of minor variations on the theme

Here is how I did it - after much trial and error - and restores of apparantly corrupt back up

after a restore and plug into itunes I get the option to restore (again) or setup as a new phone

took the setup option but as soon as the setup started clicked the x in the itunes status bar to stop it, then disconnected phone.

reconnecting the phone it syncs normally and restored all my apps (even the ones I had delelted from my iphone - not that thats a big deal ) all the data associated with the apps is back too

good way to waste 5 or 6 hours but at least I dont need to reinstall all the apps from scratch and begin games at level 1 again etc...

Glad it's sorted - you don't realise how much you need your phone until something happens to it
