Just listened to iplayer video. Says all the right things about next season. Looked disappointed about result. Think the man cares looks like he just needs help.
We need to stop appointing managers with no track record If he had any hand in that decision making process then he needs to be severely questioned.
well I cannot believe that the new owners will not do their very best to get us back up, why would they not ? Its in their interest to do so and promote us as a team to watch, not just locally but on a wider audience. Perhaps the "Times Square" Mallarkey was a bit premature though. Also they could not really have helped in January as the window closed before they took charge. But maybe their managerial appointment could have been better, and we may have survived . But its done now and we can only hope for the best.
He and our board took a massive, and naive, gamble (in my opinion) on Jose and it backfired. They need to get this one right.
Think his intentions are honest and true. Could be a decent chap talks well etc. Just a little bit of me thinks the managerial process hopefully is not based on spreadsheet info. There needs to be a element of personality in there as well, ticks all the boxes but can't speak English or comes across too nicely nicey when a rocket is needed. This is not noted on spreadsheet info He also states that team will come back better next season only problem I can for see is that as a club a 1st division team is less attractive and as we all know now every club is trying to un earth the next top player from lower leagues. This is now us unfortunately.
I don't think the board failed badly in January.Don't forget 7 signings were made.I think the manager chose quantity over quality. That's where we failed.
The new owner's to blame. The old owner's to blame. The system's to blame. The spreadsheet's to blame. The new manager's to blame. The player's are to blame. The CEOS to blame. Staggers me how our last manager routinely escapes a mention.
It's a contradiction to say the owners didn't fail badly then criticise them for quantity over quality . They failed for that reason .
Fair dos but I don't think Hecky had much to do with any of the signings apart from Mcburnie and Moore. I'm quite happy for him to be criticised mind .
Dsl red. The likes of Walton, pinnock, Lindsey, Bradshaw and even to moore(LJ said best cf Bristol City played against this season) all offer something to a championship team and add we are in lower league the way of the world heads will easily be turned. Just my point though. Even if they are all under contract with some starting there last year this coming season we are in a similar position to what we was a few yrs ago. See how things going this time around. OK all new players tied up to longer deals but realistically what is a contract worth these days. Personally just think its something the players can go to the bank with to get there mortgage on new house lol.
Exactly and if no club ever gave someone their first chance, it would be the same failed managers every time having to be appointed again. A first time boss would bring youthfulness, energy and fresh modern ideas.
Can't understand how the owners failed, they had been at the club for a few weeks and coughed up more money than we've ever spent in the the Jan transfer window. They didn't have the Stones, Roberts, Hourihane, Mawson money etc to fall back on, thats the only reason Cryne was able to spend £5/6 million last summer.
gotta love how most of our fans like to blame everyone at the club, apart from heckingbottom. who's to blame next, toby tyke or the tea lady. stupid
