I have an iPOD shuffle that I have around 250 songs on that I use for the gym, runningetc. I download songs from myApple store on my laptop at home.

However, the missus has just bought me a 120GB iPOD classic for Christmas. My pal has offered to download his 8000 songs he has on his iPOD store which includes every song i'd ever need.

My question is this.... if i try and re-charge my newiPOD classic up on my laptop will it delete the 8000 songs my mate has put on for me and replace it with the 250 songs I have in my Apple store ????

    Hope that makes sense... TIA

Can you get your mates iPod back? You could use a program called Floola (it's free) and transfer them all from his iPod into a file on your computer, then you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Although if your mates songs are in your library and they play without his being plugged in, then I doubt it would get rid of them as they should be somewhere on your computer. I suppose you could just plug yours in then if it doesn't work try Floola.

yes it probably will as an IPOD can only be synced with one ITunes at a time, so assuming he puts his 8000 on your 120gb Ipod from his PC and then you plug it into your own PC at home and open ITunes it will try to re-sync, what you would need is to get his 8000 and stick them onto your own PC and then sync from your own Itunes, hope that makes sense :D

If you go into itunes then click Edit > Preferences and the Devices tab you can turn off auto sync

    Floola does the trick...

And it's free. Can put tracks on and take them off an iPod.
