    Just consider the size

I bought a Nano and found it a bit fiddly and hard to see (my eyes arn't what they used to be) I now have the full size much easier to use and see. Would recommend this is 'portability' is not an issue.

Personally I'd go for the biggest you can afford because it's surprisingly easy to fill 8 or 16GB midels. I've got an 80GB video and I've got every album I own on it, videos galore, I put the odd TV program I've missed on it and the screens plenty big enough. I've even had whole films on it to watch while I went on mi hols. Think about a few extras too such as an Itrip so you can listen to it on through any FM receiver or some small travel speakers which are great when you go on hols.
