I've got an iPod nano so only holds about 1,000 songs so the last couple of times I've updated it, I've had to knock a few albums out of the library...

which was easy the first time when I got rid of the Kylie stuff and the bananarama (I know, but you just never know when a girl will need to hear 'Nathan Jones' just one more time!! )

anyway, now it's getting more difficult... but does anyone know if your playlists count towards your song total or if they're just 'extra' and don't count to the song number i.e. they're only stored once and the list is just a 'link' to where the original song is, and not a duplicate copy, if you see what I mean?!

    any ideas anyone?

just got the boy kill boy album and really want to get it on there without having to knock something vital off...

    TIA

the different playlists only take up about 64k of memory whereas your average song is about 3.4mb. even having 20 playlists takes up sod all memory
