BARNSLEY manager David Flitcroft is desperate to find a lasting solution to the Reds’ debilitating defensive malaise.

Is there only me that thinks the priorities are all wrong - Clean sheets are important but if you set out with the principle aim of keeping one as the top priority I am not sure thats going to work - the opposition soon figure that out and you are under constant bombardment and sooner or later something goes wrong - you cant expect an entire defence under continuous pressure to not make mistakes - which is what is happening.

Surely if you concentrate on outplaying your opponents in all areas of the pitch so you reduce the pressure on the defence the clean sheets will look after themselves. - The Hull game mentioned we totally controlled the game and our defence had nothing to do and we got our last clean sheet

I think it's a great interview to be fair. I don't think he's saying it's only about clean sheets but is obviously responding to being asked about the defence. He then goes on to identify some of the reasons that we aren't keeping clean sheets and says it isn't all just about defending but the way the whole team plays.

For me if we play well, retain the ball, work hard and make the right decisions we have the players to win games and keep clean sheets

I'd add that I'm agreeing Farnham, just don't think that is Flicker's only focus, just that the defence is what the article is about.

We have alot less points than this time last season, so we've actually gone backwards. If we don't get at least four points from our next two games he could be in trouble.

I was about to post something similar. We might run out of time for these "small steps"
