Any decent pubs round the ground? I know about the Railway but not sure about anywhere else. Few of us going down on the train and coming back Wednesday.
Portman Road Puppy Parlour where all pups are Kennel Club registered and come with a 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty.
Stayed down near quayside last season when we played them , decent bars down there . But it was decent weather then
Just seen on sky bet we’re actually favourites at 6/4 , bit fookin skinny that . Let’s hope the old adage is correct and the bookies are rarely wrong !
We have spotted a few but Isaacs on the Quay looks champion for food and drink and hopefully mild dry weather in decent surroundings. Looks a decent walk though of 20 mins to ground.
Ghost Ship is a stonking beer. Not quite as good as their Ease Up IPA, but a proper classic which always pleases.
I can honestly say I’d rather drink the sweat from a shot putters arm pit, than real ale, it probably smells and tastes better, and you’ll be able to drink in a decent well lit establishment, instead of some stinking shytehole that’s not been updated, decorated, or cleaned since it was built.
Weatherspoons pubs tend to have some of the best beer selections you can find whether that's hand pulled ale, craft beers or good quality lagers. They're a bit clinical sometimes but are always modern and spotlessly clean. You can hardly accuse Brewdog bars of being in need of modernisation either.
Yeah the boozers that sell both are normally alright, it these little back street dungeons that stink, and only sell warm beer with silly names, that everyone seems to love, that I’ll never understand, horrible places. Why people choose to go in them places to drink that ***** I’ll never know.
There is an account on Twitter which is good for pub recommendations. Drop him a tweet and I think he'll let you know what he knows. He's a Doncaster fan I believe. Take a look at Realale pubs Away days (@RealAlePubsAwa1): https://twitter.com/RealAlePubsAwa1?s=09
I find those sorts of places quite endearing tbh. And ale isn't served warm, it can be hit and miss whether it tastes delicious or like a wet gym sock but that's part of the fun for me. Give me a pint of Old Keith's Colostomy Water over a pint of Carling anyday.
