What a brilliant team they are to watch amazing energy and pressing, bags of team spirit and play on the front foot looks like promotion is theirs again.
It's scary to think of the gap in quality between these two teams to us potentially being in the same division as one of em next season.
The game against Hull on Saturday was similar. 2 sides who would wipe the floor with us, or any other League One team for that matter. I think the gap between the Championship and League One is getting wider.
I felt a bit for Ippy the other night, when they blew the lead three times away at Hull. Which was very Barnsley-esque type defending lol.
Refreshing to see someone refer to the league we're in as division 3 for once! Bug bear of mine how people so often call it division 1
Point needed at home vs Huddersfield on Saturday then there's nowt Leeds can do Pity they couldn't beat Hull though.
Nowhere near the amounts of other clubs in that league. Over the last 2 seasons they've spent a million+ on a 4/5 players, but it's nothing compared to what Leicester, Southampton & especially Leeds have spent. Or Norwich, Stoke, Coventry etc.
I grew up with it being division 2, but division 3 makes perfect sense. Division 1 is the only one that doesn't
Leeds have only themselves to blame. Last couple of weeks losing 1 nil at home to Blackburn and 4 nil away at QPR has done them. Still think they will go up via the play offs. Ipswich have deserved promotion.
I agree, which makes it even more astounding that Ipswich have wiped the floor with the Championship (Leicester aside) with basically the same side as they had in L1, with a few astute loan signings. McKenna is either the luckiest manager in football or, as I suspect, an absolute genius coach. Either way Ipswich should be grateful for every game they've got him because he's destined for much bigger things.
