Lost in three days to Somerset by ten wickets yet go top (for now).

Middlesex will overtake us with their game not finished, no matter what their result. But, and it's a BIG but, all is not lost. Should the Lankys beat Middlesex in this game we could then go to Lords and claim the title.

It would be a shame to fall just short of a third successive league title, and get nothing in Gillespie's last season with us. Fingers crossed :)

140 lead with six wickets left at stumps. We won't want Lancashire chasing anymore than 250.

I still can't understand why we won the toss and elected to bat in those conditions. Ah well, still a chance weather permitting.

Reckon Somerset will sneak in. Our game at Lords could easily be a draw and Somerset have bottom of the table Notts at home....

In all reality as long as Middlesex don't win it doesn't matter whether they draw or lose, as long as weather doesn't intervene

If they lose they'll be 4 clear, a draw and they'll be 9, so we'd be unlikely to overturn 4 points in a draw because if we both took maximum bowling points we'd have to restrict them to under 250 and score more than 400 ourselves.

One thing Somerset being so close does mean is there's no chance Middlesex will produce a 'road' making a draw inevitable, so on a good cricket wicket we've got as good a chance as anyone. After two defeats at Lord's in a row this would be the perfect time to win there

Very tense though. Let's just hope Lancashire get at least a draw first of all, which they should do

Also we can take advantage of opting to bat if we wish - being the away side.

We can only choose to put them in if we want; if we want to bat, we'll have to try and win the toss

lancs looking good for a draw so should make for a decent finish,
given that it looked all over when middlesex had lancs 6/4 it'd be a real kick in the ****** if we beat middlesex but somerset snatch it by 1 bonus point.
probably piss it down all next week anyway
