    Ever since I upgraded from 512K to 2Meg on Tiscali the speed has been appalling. for the first few days I was getting around 100K download speed, Having had a patronisiing chat with a person in Bombay who had me do such useful things as delete my internet history( how does that help?) they finally agreed to put an engineer on the case.</p>

    Engineer made some changes at the exchange allegedly and speed increased to 200 to 300K and left voicemail saying they cant help me further unless I install a tiscali supplied Modem on the line</p>

    Thats a bit of a problem as I dont have one - just a Netgear router and an old BT supplied Intel modem - which behave the same</p>

    This is going to be painful to resolve!</p>

    (previously the 512K service had been reliably giving over 450K download speeds!)</p>
