Judging by the support AR gets on the boards it would appear that not many want him to leave the club. I see comments like he's a young inexperienced manager(46?) and needs time to learn from his mistakes, etc. I was wondering do you think AR needs to bring in an experience ex-manager or coach to act as his mentor in much the same way Brian Robson brought Terry Venables in to help him out when he was at Borough? All he appears to have at the moment is a physio helping him out. Before anyone suggests it I don't mean me. The club is so poor they obviously couldn't afford to pay for my petrol money to Tarn and back. What about Winstanley or Redders?
There is a lot of sense in what you s............................................................... Unfortunately, many will see it as an attack on the Club. I don't, and can see where you are coming from. I am in despair at the moment......................
I'd be a bit disappointed if he went.............but not as disappointed But not as disappointed as I were when Wilson went And definatly not as disappointed as when Hirsty went Jury still out regarding Ritchie We are already in a relegation battle and Ritchie has yet to sign any players that will keep us in this league But if he went - would the good football seen recently at the WELL disappear (dunno) I hope Shep dosen't throw a wad of cash at him trying to get him to stay We have seen this before when BIG JD lifted Bassetts wages to stop him going to Blackburn Only for Bassett to get sacked soon after
this has really bugged me for over a year now Nigel winterburn was on Sky goals on sunday and was virtually begging to be allowed to give back some of his vast knowledge-he felt managers would feel threatened by him and so his offer wouldn't be taken up-look at what Adams has done for Pompey-GS get on the phone NOW
RE: this has really bugged me for over a year now Thats not uncommon with managers or even coaches for that matter. The job is so insecure they try and do every thing for themselves and end up working 16 hours a Day. I have said for the last couple of years that we are understaffed at Oakwell. Too few people are trying to do too many jobs.
Didn't we have that defensive coach in? There seemed to be some improvement around the time that was happening...
RE: Is AR a man who needs need help................................................................ i said when ritchie got the job we should bring winnie back to help him out, wouldnt mind bringing mal shotton back as a coach an'all.

I once sent it in to apply for a job selling the programme but apart from that, no... ff Not quite sure I get your point...
Yes, I do think that AR needs some support Yes. I do think that AR could do with some extra experience in support.. Whether he would welcome it or accept it, i fear is another matter
RE: Is AR a man who needs need help................................................................ Winstanley maybe.
Redders no - he certainly isn't experienced enough to mentor AR.

RE: im not joking here - have you ever sent your CV in to oakwell? No, but I was once asked to, and yes it was at Oakwell. I was working in Derbyshire and was earning as much if not more than what I could have earned as a full-time Academy coach, though it was for a part time job of 5 hours per week at £20 an hour I think it was. I think it's about £25 an hour now if you have the "B" Licence. A friend of mine worked at Wednesday and quit because he was working a lot more hours than he was being paid for. The planning of sessions can be very time consumming and you also have to evaluate your sessions. Not that I do now. This is a genuine coaching job advertised in the latest FA Coaches Association Journal. They were asking for the following: UEFA 'B' Licence(Essential) UEFA 'A' (prefered) Experience with U17/U19 age groups Youth Coaches Award 17-21 years Management experience Qualifications in treatment of injuries/physiotherapy Understanding of the USA scholarhip process Teaching Qualification Coach educator. What do you think the salery would be £30-40k? It was actually £18000 to £25000 depending on experience. Not a lot of money for a very insecure job.
RE: Didn't we have that defensive coach in? Barlow from Oldham. The reason I have been going down to training was to see what work was being done to organise the defence. That's why I was so disapointed. I expected to see some coaching done all I have been seeing is an 8 v 8 game.
We did seem to improve while that Barlow was here... Or maybe it was just a fluke - I dunno... I don't know enuff about what should, or shouldn't, be going off at coaching sessions so I really couldn't comment... I'd like to think that Ritchie knows what he's doing though...
RE: Is there a site that lists the current coaching staff Not that I know of. I think you would have to go to each individual club web site to see. The Sky Football Year book does have some info but it is mainly 1st team, res team and Academy directors which are named.
