As the management seem to be writing off of our assets and failing to improve the infrastructure, history would suggest we are on the verge of going bust!!!

Yeah I Agree We Should Shut The Waste Of Space Academy

That would save us a seven figure annual sum that would be better spent elsewhere like on wages and transfer fees.

I think that was the figure roughly in the accounts when in administration. Wasn't there talks about getting rid of it when we were in administration? If so think of the money we would have saved over the years since, as it's not produced.

We had a very large academy then running two teams and we had a lot more highly

qualified and experienced coaching staff. I think you will find the actual costs now are much less than that if you just include wages. That is of course unless Ronnie Branson is paid 750k.

I have seen Acadmy directors jobs advertised at 35k.

Even at Premiership Academies the moneys not out of the ordinary.

I'm certainly not normally one to agree wi dreamy and I'm feeling slightly uneasy at doing so but..........
I'd reckon the Academy costs are closer to 1m than the 200k also quoted.
Its not just the bloke in charges salary, its also all the other staff involved, plus the up keep of the ground and buildings, utility fees, admin, legal fees etc etc.
Close on a million down the drain easy.

When i played in academy i think coaches used to get 10-12 pound an hour, so it might be more than 200 000

And what about the 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,and 16 yr olds

Who live for the acadamy, its not just about those who have been given a scholarship . Dont forget we were helped out considerably by the Council when we needed it. The Acadamy is part of our town we should be proud of it not trying to run it down... Its as tho all some people want to do is shut things down, rant over ...........

£400k (or£450k) a year is the figure quoted to me directly from a former chairman

Now whether that is the amount extra that the academy costs compared to a normal youth and training set up or whether it is the total cost was never made clear but it is definetly the figure that i was told straight from the horses mouth.

I struggle to believe that the academy is run for 200k

When my team of 8 fieldsales agents costs my company nearly 500k.

To think that the bill for the acadamy is so small is ludicrous.
