This illness stuff has been going round our family for the last 6 weeks..... it's getting very annoying. This week our 20 month old had it, then my husband , and now my throat is so sore all I can do is swig paracetamol down with brandy! Maybe I'll sleep tonight!

Ha..a subject I am well versed in.

Had the bloody thing twice a year for 8 years with varying severity.

Only sure fire pain relief is to gargle ParaCodol. No other pain killer is effective. Drink plenty of water and get to the docs for some powerful antibiotics.

Almost had the buggers out but decided the surgery was elective, inneffective and unnecessary.

Only get a mild twinge these days though I was once bed ridden for more then a week and almost unable to breath.

PAracodal - is that like Co codomal? (cos I've got some). I think I might gargle anything at the minute - but Brandy is my best option!

Oh yes - ears on swallowing - not good. When I took our youngest to the Doc, he said her ear dru=ms were red raw. I think we need a family dose of antibiotics.

    Paracetemol & Codine

    Soluble tablets that you gargle.

You need to get the painkiller directly onto the soft tissue. Garglings the only way.

Should I gargle it in Brandy then? (To make it more acceptable like?!)
