Just read he is seeking treatment in the States. It's a tragic story and no doubt countless people have sacrificed a lot to help him but he clearly has his demons and just seems like he is not too far away from his next all day drinking session. Even Bestie was told that if he drank another drink he would die. Didn't listen did he. Hope one of Englands greatest ever talents does not end that way.
He's not beyond help. He just needs marooning on desert Island with no alcohol to dry out. Daily Mail was talking about him being sectioned again for his own good.
I've read somewhere today there will be a minutes applause for him at Newcastle Spurs game its a bit premature isn't it
I've just watched a video of his speech at the charity function the other night and it was painful to see. He could barely hold the microphone, as he was shaking so badly. It seems to be a long road ahead of him if he is going to make a recovery and fingers crossed he gets there, although it sadly appears to be unlikely at this moment in time. I once saw him play for Spurs at Goodison Park (the game where he gave Gary Stevens - the Spurs' version - a clip for not passing him the ball) and it was one of the best displays I've ever seen. He was blessed with so much ability. Such a shame that he wasn't well enough equipped to deal with the fame/demands/pressures and that so many undesirable people took advantage of him.
