I mean, starting to make noises like 'it's not my fault AR wouldn't sign players' - putting the blame elsewhere (and very definately at AR's door). Maybe fearful that Ritchie is still too popular to sack outright, so he's going to put the boot in a bit first, get the fans to demand the sacking, and then 'give in'.

RE: my guess is lose on saturday he's gone nt its becoming the biggest game of the season. we dont need all this off the field rubbish
After that interview, it's going to be a long way back for Andy Ritchie I felt it was a good interview and that Gordon was as honest as he possibly could be under the circumstances. It is obvious that the Board are stalling on AR's contract and a look at the results so far will give them all the ammunition they need to conclude his contract whether the fans like it or not, should they wish to do so.. I am positive that Gordon will do all in his power to do what is best for our beloved football club. If AR is not bringing players in to strengthen the team as has been stated by GS, then you have to question why that is. I have my own views and opinions but will refrain from posting them here on a public forum. All I want is our football club to survive in this league, for us to become solvent and for us to go forward from thereon.
He was flapping at bit wasn't he? I like Gordon, but it was a hilariously bad performace from him today. Andy's contract situation is a joke. Gordon has clearly gone back on what he said a few weeks ago. Also, why didn't he tell the Kazim-Richards story at the time? All we got to know was that Brighton wanted too much for him. There was nothing about Andy taking his bat and ball home was there?
GS did come out publically and state that we were interested and that money was available for him. I know this because I heard it with my own ears on football heaven and remember it clearly. According to GS, AR changed his mind the next day.
OK, fair enough. At the time, all I remember is Gordon stating that Brighton wanted too much and at that point we ended our interest. I don't remember his saying Andy had "changed his mind". However, that was a week before the transfer deadline and I must admit, I was surprised we did not go back in with a bid at the death (as Brighton clearly wanted to get rid of him).
It's a bit like like a story I heard about Naseem Hamed... When he fought Paul Robinson for the world title in Cardiff, before the fight Hamed challenged Robinson to put all the prize money in one pot, 'winner takes all'. Robinson (obviously fearing a defeat - which happened) made the excuse 'I'd have to talk to my lawyer'. Hamed replied 'Who needs the lawyers - it's simple enough, yes or no?'.
Shepherd is saying it's with the lawyers... B*ll*cks. Who needs lawyers to sort that out? You either offer a contract extention or you don't. It doesn't take this long to thrash it out.

The Blades only put a bid in right at the transfer deadline The Reds had declared themselves not interested more than a week earlier. I was just wondering why we didn't go back in on deadline day. We didn't even make a "cheeky" bid (as confirmed by Gordon himself). The Brighton chairman DID ring back - so that suggests he was prepared to negotiate (and keen to sell).
RE: He was flapping at bit wasn't he? He was flapping a little but not proceeding with the 'contract' as priority is understandable. Apart from Leeds we have had some bad results and things are not as good as they were a few weeks ago. To add to the doubt AR has made some strange tactical decisions lately that must confuse the board and fans alike.
RE: After that interview, it's going to be a long way back for Andy Ritchie why should he bring in players he doesn,t want, ritchie is the manager not uncle gordon.Truth is the players ritchie wants gordon says we can,t have, the interview gordon gave was a load of *****!If he wanted shut he should have let him speak to the wendies.
