out in wombwell this evening when I got talking to a guy who said that a higher division midfield player was offered but that the asking price of 250K was way above what the club was willing to pay and that the board are not willing to pay that type of money for a player. This guy thinks that the shortsightedness of the board will create another Rotherham situation as a result of their hesitation to go for it and strengthen for the run in. He said,and at the moment I just cannot remember who the named player or his club,that he was a neil redfern type of playmaker who would have made up for the loss of a certain J. BURNS. As soon as my recall kicks in I will report back and as a matter of interest I will ask Mr. Shepherd if that guy was telling the truth. He may well tell me to pi**s off but ,there you go,thats life.

 

to be fair if we were going to spend 250k it would be for a goalscorer:
A Windass
A Hayter
A Sharp
Wed **** on this league then.

Pity Burns didnt go before we went in for Windass. Then we could have used the money we got for Burns to increase the offer.

i didnt mean windass as a midfielder, i meant him as a striker. He still bangs them in from midfield though.
