    Maybe it's because

    I'd rather buy presents for people when I want to at any time of the year, rather than feel I have to for Xmas day. Maybe it's to do with everything being available all year round so nuts, dates, tangerines etc are no longer a special Xmas thing. Or, maybe I'm just a miserable git :D
